First aid kit: you have to take masks with you!

Corona not only affects travel options, but also the first-aid kit. The Federal Chamber of Pharmacists has now listed what you should pack and consider in addition to masks.

Holidays in Germany are slowly becoming possible again: Hotels and holiday apartments are allowed to reopen and receive guests - depending on the federal state, subject to appropriate conditions and at different times. Anyone who travels in Corona times should always add to their first-aid kit accordingly.

Pack enough masks

Ursula Sellerberg from the Federal Chamber of Pharmacists explains that luggage should also have an appropriate amount of face mask or so-called everyday masks.

If you use everyday masks, which are often made of pure cotton, you should find out whether you can wash them at the holiday destination - and at least at 60 degrees, because only these temperatures kill any viruses that may adhere to them.

Disinfection "for in between"

There is not always a way to wash your hands on the go. For such occasions Sellerberg therefore recommends having a disinfectant with you: "It is best to have it close at hand in a jacket pocket."

What else belongs in the first-aid kit

In addition to the "corona-specific" products, the first-aid kit should contain all those medicines and dressings that can also be found in the medicine cabinet at home. In addition, there may be medication that you have to take regularly - in sufficient quantities to cover the entire vacation period, and those against typical travel ailments such as nausea, ticks or mosquitoes.
