In the first two years of life, a conversation with the parents (anamnesis) or a questionnaire they fill out helps with the diagnosis. From the age of two it is possible to carry out language development diagnostics. There are standardized tests for the different language levels and age groups. Further diagnostics can include hearing tests, a detailed examination of development, neuropediatric examinations and an imaging examination of the brain using electroencephalography (EEG).
