Protective shield up: In the 29th week of pregnancy, your offspring will work on their immune system, among other things. In addition, he will often let you feel his presence. Find out here to what extent your baby's development progresses in the 29th week of pregnancy, how height and weight change in the 29th week of pregnancy and why your stomach can become hard more often in the 29th week of pregnancy.

29 weeks of gestation: This is how your baby is developing

The space for the baby becomes even scarcer in the 29th week of pregnancy. Maybe that's why it doesn't move that much anymore, but it pushes you all the more emphatically. The little body is as good as finished and can even regulate its temperature in the meantime. Now it is time to refine the various functions, especially those relating to the nervous system.

The child receives important antibodies against diseases via the placenta in week 29 of pregnancy: Antibodies are exchanged between you and the baby.

29th week of pregnancy ultrasound: That can be seen

Your baby is close to 40: The 29th week of pregnancy means an approximate height of 37 centimeters. There is also something happening on the scales in the 29th week of pregnancy. The weight gain is still in full swing, so that the total weight is now around 1,300 grams.

29th week of pregnancy: That will change for you

In the 29th week of pregnancy, the uterus contracts again and again. You will notice this when your abdominal wall becomes hard at times. With these practice contractions, your body prepares itself for the "emergency birth".

Physically you are now less resilient and your concentration also decreases. So be careful whether you move around the house or on the street.

In terms of size, you will continue to increase in the 29th week of pregnancy - your stomach will be even more voluminous. Since the child and uterus put pressure on the intestines and stomach, among other things, you should try to eat only small portions - even if you have food cravings. In this way, symptoms such as uncomfortable stomach pressure can be avoided in the 29th week of pregnancy.

29th week of pregnancy: That is important now

The last trimester of pregnancy, which also includes the 29th week of pregnancy, is exhausting for you as an expectant mother - both physically and mentally. Therefore, do something good for yourself regularly and relax, for example with a warm full bath.

During the entire pregnancy, however, your bath water should not be hotter than 37 degrees, otherwise your core body temperature will increase, and with it that of the child. In addition, so that you do not stress your circulation too much, you should not lie in the tub for more than ten minutes.

You can make the most of this time, for example by pampering yourself with moisturizing or pH-neutral bath additives or a peeling. Incidentally, the latter not only removes dead skin, but also perfuses the skin. Care lotions and creams are absorbed even better afterwards.

Around the calculated due date, a bath with essential oil and cream in warm water can even stimulate labor in a pleasant way. You can find out from your midwife which oil is suitable in which dosage.

Midwife tip

Do you also feel that in the 29th week of pregnancy you find it increasingly difficult to walk past a shop with cute baby rompers without shopping? Perhaps you have already bought basic equipment for your child? Especially if your baby is born in autumn or winter, sooner or later the question will arise whether the tender creature is warm enough. You can use the following rule of thumb as a guide: The baby's forehead should be lukewarm and the neck should not be wet with sweat. Basically, babies should always wear one more shift than we adults. Almost 90 percent of all children are dressed too cold on their first visit to aftercare. What better excuse for one or the other shopping spree in the 29th week of pregnancy?
