Dark circles under the eyes, annoying blackheads, narrow lips: Make-up can be used to conceal small blemishes - if you know how to use concealer, eye shadow, etc. We have put together some tips for you.

Primer - the base

Even the most beautiful eye make-up is of little use if the complexion is irregular and blotchy. With a foundation (foundation) you create an even base. But first you should clean the skin and massage in a face cream that is suitable for your type. Let it soak in for a moment and then continue with the primer: When choosing the color, you should orient yourself to your natural skin color. Ideally, the primer is either the same shade as your skin or is a maximum of a shade darker. It becomes from the center outwards Don't forget: spread the primer up to the hairline and over the chin line, otherwise it will look like you have a mask on your face!

Dark circles, pimples, redness

With a concealer you can "whitewash" dark shadows under the eyes. Its color should be one or two shades lighter than your own skin tone. If, on the other hand, you want to cover redness or small pimples, a concealer in the same skin tone is the better choice.

Eyes - smaller or larger

With the so-called banana technique you can optically enlarge your eyes. This make-up technique is particularly ideal for drooping eyelids: First, apply beige powder eyeshadow to the entire lid (preferably with a foam applicator). Then trace the crease of the eyelid with an eyeshadow brush in a darker shade (brown, brown-gray) in an arc shape. Finally, this arch is "blended over the crease of the eyelid" with a broad brush, that is, blurred towards the top. A look in the mirror will reveal whether you've done everything correctly - the dark eyeshadow in the crease (the banana) should not be visible.

Small eyes look bigger when you trace the lower, inner edge of the eyelid with a light eye pencil. However, if you have sensitive eyes or wear contact lenses, you should avoid them.

Eyes that are far apart can be visually approximated by applying darker eye shadow to the inner corner of the eye, which then becomes lighter towards the outside. The same goes for the kohl. In addition, if your eyes are wide apart, you should only paint the inner lashes.

If, on the other hand, the eyes are too close together, you do it the other way around: The inner eye area is given a light eyeshadow. The hue slowly darkens upwards and outwards. Mascara is only applied to the outer lashes.)

Lips - perfect shape

Before you apply lipstick, you should trace the shape of the mouth with a lip liner of the same color. The line is usually set directly on the edge of the lip. Those who are a little more experienced and have unevenly sized lips can cheat a bit and, for example, widen an upper lip that is too narrow - but don't overdo it, otherwise it will quickly look artificial. The contour pencil not only ensures well-defined, well-shaped lips, but also prevents the lipstick from "running".

Those who prefer it natural can just use lip gloss on their lips. Here, too, you can create clear boundaries beforehand with a contour pencil. Choose a pencil that matches your natural lip color as closely as possible. The prerequisite for the nude look is that the lips are optimally cared for and not cracked.

A touch of blush

Rouge gives pale people a rosy complexion. In addition, the shape of the face with cheek red can be optically changed in the right place, for example if it is naturally very narrow or rounded. In any case, soft transitions are important, otherwise you will quickly look like a clown. This is not a problem with a wide brush.

»Round face: To make the face appear a little narrower, matt, brownish blush is suitable (products with glitter particles are taboo!). Start with the application at the level of the ears on the side of the face and then along the cheekbones towards the corners of the mouth. You can also apply a little blush to the temples.

»Square face: In this case, blush in a dark shade is the right choice. It is applied to the side of the cheekbones (relatively deep below the cheekbones) as well as to the corners of the forehead. These dark shades make the contours of the face appear softer. If you then put light powder or concealer (highlighter) directly on the cheekbones, the otherwise flat face gets additional contours.

»Heart-shaped face: You can only use light blush for this, a dark one would also narrow the face. Apply the blush to the widest part of the cheekbones and let it flow horizontally back towards the hairline. You can also shade the sides of the forehead with blush.

»Elongated, narrow face: This face shape can be visually shortened by placing the blush almost horizontally below the cheekbones. Especially the middle of the cheeks should get color, so the face looks fuller.
