The medicine Meditonsin is a homeopathic medicine. It helps treat acute inflammation of the throat, nose and throat. Here you will find all the important information about the drug.

This active ingredient is in Meditonsin

The meditonsin effect is based on the very diluted ingredients aconitinum (from the blue monkshood), Atropinum sulfuricum (from the deadly nightshade) and mercury cyanide. All substances are potentially toxic substances, but they are very dilute. Homeopathy mainly relies on the body's own self-healing powers when taking the tincture. The meditonsin effect is not only based on the ingredients, but above all on their processing.

When is Meditonsin used?

Meditonsin is used to treat acute inflammation of the throat, nose and throat. The drug relieves symptoms in the early stages of a cold and shortens the duration of the cold.

What are the side effects of Meditonsin?

Since Meditonsin is a homeopathic medicine with few active ingredients, only mild side effects rarely occur.

Increased salivation may occur when taking the medication. In addition, skin reactions in the form of itching, reddening and rash can occur. In both cases, the drug should be discontinued. If further side effects occur, a doctor should be consulted.

You should keep this in mind when using Meditonsin

There are few restrictions on the use of the drug. In the case of known allergies to the meditonsin ingredients, the drug must not be taken. Furthermore, the drug is not suitable for alcoholics, as the solution consists largely of alcohol.

Otherwise no interactions with other drugs are known.

The meditonsin dosage for adults and adolescents from the age of twelve is a maximum of five drops six times a day. There should be 30 to 60 minutes between each dose.

Infants between seven and twelve months are allowed to take one meditonsin drop once a day.

The meditonsin dosage for children from one year of age is one drop six times a day.

Children between six and twelve years of age can take one or two drops up to six times a day, but not more than eleven drops of Meditonsin a day.

The duration of therapy should exceed seven days, only after consultation with your doctor.

Accidental overdose of the drug can cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. In this case, too, a doctor should be consulted.

Meditonsin: pregnancy, breastfeeding and children

There are no studies that show the integrity of the unborn child, so treatment with Meditonsin is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The same applies to use in babies under seven months of age. Infants between seven and twelve months should only be given the drug after consulting a doctor. The drug is suitable for young children from the age of two as long as the dosage is adjusted by a doctor. The drug is only given to small children in very small quantities and is therefore considered to be harmless despite its alcoholic solution.

How to get Meditonsin

Meditonsin can be purchased in pharmacies without a prescription. The mixture is available in small 35 ml, 50 ml or 70 ml bottles, which can only be kept for six months after opening and should not be used afterwards.
