Anyone who recently survived a Covid 19 disease can now have a digital certificate issued in many German pharmacies. So far, this only applied to those who had recovered who had also received a Covid 19 vaccination.

ID card plus PCR test

Interested parties only have to present their identity card and proof of a positive PCR test that was made no more than 180 days ago. A corresponding medical or official certificate serves as proof of this.

"For patients who have recently had a SARS-CoV-2 infection and who, according to the STIKO recommendation, should only be vaccinated after six months, a recovery certificate has not yet been technically possible," explains the chairman of the German Pharmacists' Association, Thomas Dittrich .

Free offer

The offer is free of charge for patients. As with the other digital Covid-19 certificates, the issuing pharmacy receives a fee of EUR 5.04 plus VAT from the Federal Social Security Office.

You can find out which pharmacy is issuing the certificates in the vicinity via the consumer portal www.mein-apothekenmanager.de.

Austria and Switzerland

In Austria, those who have recovered can obtain the certificate online from Gesundheit.gv.at or from municipalities, district administrative authorities and the ELGA ombudsman.

In Switzerland, those who have recovered submit proof of a positive PCR test and then take a quick test directly at the exhibition site. This can be done in medical practices, test centers, pharmacies, laboratories, hospitals or the cantonal authorities.
