Sab Simplex is the name of a family of drugs that are used to treat functional disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. The products help with painful build-up of gas in the digestive tract. Read all the important information about the mode of action, application and side effects here.

This active ingredient is in Sab Simplex

The Sab-Simplex active ingredient is Simeticon. Its surface structure defoams the gastrointestinal tract so that painful accumulations of gas are released and absorbed or excreted through the intestinal wall. This process takes place exclusively in the gastrointestinal area. The active ingredient is not absorbed, but instead passes through the gastrointestinal tract unchanged. Sab-Simplex relaxes the digestive organs and relieves pain.

When is Sab simplex used?

The drug is used in:

  • symptomatic treatment of gastrointestinal complaints (such as flatulence or Roeheld's syndrome), swallowing of air (aerophagia), after operations
  • Preparations for examinations in the abdominal area (x-rays, ultrasound or gastrointestinal reflections)
  • Detergent poisoning

What are the side effects of Sab Simplex?

So far, no side effects have been noted after taking the drug. The product is well tolerated by all age groups and also during pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Nevertheless, allergic reactions are possible after an application. Serious intolerance reactions can lead to swelling of the face and airways, shortness of breath, drop in blood pressure and even allergic shock. In this case, immediate treatment by an emergency doctor is necessary.

You should keep this in mind when using Sab Simplex

So far there have been no reports of interactions with other drugs. However, you should consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking any other medication.

Infants and young children

dosage

The Sab-Simplex dosage depends on the age of the person affected and the severity of the symptoms. Treatment can also be long-term and is not limited to a specific duration.
