Kadefungin helps with fungal infections of the mucous membranes (antimycotic). Kadefungin products are effective against all fungi that make humans sick. In the following text, read all the important facts and instructions for the safe use of the drug.

This active ingredient is in Kadefungin

The active ingredient in the Kadefungin combination products is called clotrimazole. It belongs to the group of azole antifungal drugs. These inhibit the production of a substance (ergosterol) that is important for the function of the cell membrane of fungi and some types of bacteria. If it is absent, the pathogen will stop multiplying, and the accompanying Kadefungin lactic acid treatment will normalize the pH of the vagina. This regenerates the vagina’s natural protective acid mantle and combats the pathogens.

When is Kadefungin used?

A Kadefungin application is recommended for a fungal infection of the vagina and the external genital area. The lactic acid cure is used to recover and restore damaged vaginal flora and to prevent further infections caused by fungi and some bacteria.

What are the side effects of kadefungin?

Occasional side effects of kadefungin are generally skin irritation (reddening, burning, stinging) limited to the site of application. In addition, if the preparation is intolerant, a strong allergic reaction with swelling of the airways, shortness of breath, drop in blood pressure and even shock can occur. In this case, an emergency doctor must be notified immediately.

You should keep this in mind when using Kadefungin

If there is an allergy to the active ingredient or other components of the preparation, the drug must not be used.

In order to avoid impairment of the effect, agents for intimate hygiene should only be used during treatment after consultation with your doctor. In addition, Kadefungin can weaken the condom material so that adequate contraceptive protection is no longer guaranteed.

So far, only interactions with other antifungal drugs (amphothericin B, nystatin, natamycin) are known. Nevertheless, the simultaneous use of other medications should be discussed with your doctor or pharmacist beforehand.

Children and adolescents

Since there are no meaningful data on the safe use of Kadefungin 3 Kombi or other products, these preparations should only be used in children and adolescents after consulting a doctor.

pregnancy and breast feeding period

Studies indicate that there is an increased risk of miscarriage in the first three months of pregnancy. No studies are available for use in the last six months. The use of Kadefungin is therefore only useful after a risk-benefit assessment by a doctor. The vaginal tablets should not be inserted with the applicator during pregnancy.

During breastfeeding, the product can be used as directed by a doctor.

The lactic acid treatment can impair sperm motility and make pregnancy more difficult.

dosage

The vaginal tablets are inserted into the vagina once a day using the applicator. The Kadefungin cream is applied once a day, thinly with the finger on the external genital organs up to the anus on the skin.

The duration of use is three or six days, depending on the choice of product. This time frame should be adhered to even if the symptoms improve quickly in order to ensure that the infection heals safely.

The Kadefungin lactic acid regimen is carried out for seven days. A single-use applicator containing the gel is inserted into the vagina every day and the gel reservoir is slowly emptied.

How To Get Kadefungin

For the treatment of a fungal infection, Kadefungin is available in pharmacies without a prescription. Due to the long use of the active ingredient, Kadefungin 6 requires a prescription.

The Kadefungin combination consists of a Kadefungin cream and vaginal tablets, which are also available individually.
