Naturally thick, shiny hair? Unfortunately only a few have that. But with a few tricks you can get a lot out of it.

Thin hair

Thin hair, especially when it is straight, drives many girls to despair. Volume tricks such as teasing or curling your curls usually don't last long and, if not done professionally, also look strange.

It is therefore particularly important for thin hair that it is well-groomed. Oily, thin strands are a "no go".

Wash your hair regularly with a mild shampoo. Freshly washed, it is fragrant and shiny. Do not use excessive care products, they are too heavy for fine hair. Blow-dry your head a little more fullness comes in. Also, get your hair cut regularly so that it is well-groomed and there is no spit. If you find your hair color boring, maybe you think about a shade that suits your type? Then the hair looks completely different. However, dyeing and bleaching is often too much, especially for fine, sensitive hair - it can become strawy.

Straw hair

Frizzy hair in particular is often brittle and unruly. But also salt water and UV light or too violent styling can make the hair strawy. There is a whole battery of appropriate care products in the drugstore. An oil treatment can help with very dry hair. To do this, let normal cooking oil soak in for at least half an hour and then wash it off. If the ends of the hair have split, special split ends repair them for a short time. In the long run, however, only a hairdresser's scissors will help with split ends.

Oily hair

When hormones go crazy during puberty, many struggle not only with oily skin, but also with oily hair. This is due to an overproduction of the sebum glands on the head. Mild shampoos that do not stimulate the sebum glands are best. It is best not to brush your hair too often, otherwise you will spread the grease even faster. For the same reason, you shouldn't grab your hair too often.

Even if it sounds contradictory, some can benefit from a cure with olive oil, which soothes the sebum glands. To do this, the olive oil is massaged into the scalp, after ten minutes the hair is combed through and the oil is washed out thoroughly.

Girls who take the pill can get a doctor to prescribe a contraceptive that reduces the amount of fat produced by their skin and hair.

Dandruff

Dandruff can have a number of different causes. For one, they trickle off the head because the scalp is too dry. In that case, you shouldn't wash your hair too often and only use a very mild shampoo.

With oily dandruff, however, the scalp is also oily. That is why the normal dandruff stick and clump together. In this case, special anti-dandruff shampoos can help.

If the scales are stubborn, a fungal attack can be the cause. In that case, you should see a dermatologist who can prescribe a special shampoo for you.

Hair loss

We lose around 100 hairs every day. This is completely normal. However, severe hair loss can have very different causes. Hormonal fluctuations, for example, but also stress or a diet. In rare cases, a disease can also be behind the hair loss. If the hair loss persists, you should always consult a doctor.

When men lose their hair, however, there is usually a genetic program behind the hair loss. For some, hereditary hair loss starts at a young age. In rare cases, women also suffer from it. From a certain point in life, the hair roots react sensitively to the breakdown products of the male sex hormone testosterone. Certain drugs help against this, but they are expensive and have to be taken for life.
