Run, run, romp

Any additional physical activity is good for your health. This does not have to be in one piece, but can be spread over the day. Ride a bike, go out with the dog, walk to school - these everyday activities do not involve any effort!

At the weekend and in their free time, children should be physically active: skateboarding, hiking, swimming - alone, with friends or in a club. The main thing is that it's fun!

To get a good overview of how much and what physical activity is recommended for children every day, experts have developed the exercise pyramid for children:

  • Everyday activities such as cycling to school, walking the dog or helping mom around the house (vacuuming, sweeping, etc.) form the basis of the movement pyramid. Children should do such light physical activities for five to ten minutes six times a day.
  • The middle level is reserved for leisure activities: A quarter of an hour should be allowed four times a day for moderate physical activities such as playing football, jumping rope or rollerblading.
  • At the top of the exercise pyramid is intense physical activity in the context of sport (swimming, basketball, etc.): A quarter of an hour twice a day should be scheduled for this.
