The right mouse - handy helper

Anyone who works a lot with the mouse and tenses up due to an incorrect posture can develop what is known as a mouse arm - an inflammation of the muscles in the forearm. The best measure: optimize the workplace. And that includes the perfect mouse.

Hand as measure

Small, large, extra large, with cable, without cable: PC mice come in all variations. But there are no norms for them or for the mouse pads. When choosing the right PC mouse, your hand is the measure of all things. The mouse should be about the size of your curved hand. In addition, it should be optimally adapted to the shape of the hand. PC mice are usually round at the heel of the hand and wider towards the fingers. The thumb, little finger and ring finger should be able to be placed comfortably. With a good mouse, this is supported by indentations for the fingertips. So the mouse can also be ideally guided by hand.

A particularly natural and relaxed hand position can be achieved with a vertical mouse. The buttons are not on the top, but on the side. The position of the hand is then the same as when shaking hands.

Warm coasters

Another way to relieve the muscles of the hand is to use a mouse pad with a support for the wrist. A good mouse pad should also be smooth, washable and not cold. For example, stone pads are unsuitable because they cool the hand unnecessarily. The mouse must be easy to move on the mat. A mouse pad is not absolutely necessary for modern mice with infrared control. However, if the table top is too dark, the controls will not work properly.
