(lv / dpa) - The three-day hit festival planned for the end of May in the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben will not take place as planned due to the novel corona virus. The organizers announced this on Friday evening in Dessau-Roßlau.

Schlager Dome will be postponed to 2021

"As the organizer, we have unlimited responsibility towards our guests, artists and employees, and we will therefore not take any health risks," the statement said. The "Schlager Dome" will therefore be postponed to Whitsun 2021.

More than 25 artists and bands were to appear at the racetrack from May 29th to 31st, including Jürgen Drews, the Amigos, Beatrice Egli, VoXXclub, Mickie Krause and Münchener Freiheit. It should be the first multi-day hit festival in Europe.

Tech Festival SXSW is also canceled
